Laurel Fisher
Associate Development Consultant
Laurel is an experienced nonprofit professional with over 15 years of experience in the nonprofit sector. Her areas of expertise include fundraising, grants management, database administration, data collection, and nonprofit coaching. Laurel most recently served as the Grants Manager for the Metro Nashville Arts Commission, During her tenure there, she redesigned the grants program. Laurel managed all the administrative aspects of the grant evaluation process and coached applicants on successful grantwriting.
Laurel holds a M.Ed. in Nonprofit Leadership from Belmont University and has held development positions at Vanderbilt University, The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, W.O. Smith/Nashville Community Music School, and Catholic Charities of Tennessee.
Laurel is also an accomplished grant writer who has submitted winning proposals to private foundations and government funding programs. She has been selected as a presenter on grants and grants writing at conferences, most recently including Grantmakers in the Arts, Annual Conference, Oakland, CA and the Arts & Business Council of Greater Nashville.
She is a Nashville Emerging Leaders alumni and serves on the boards of St. George’s Enterprise Ministry, Nashville Social Enterprise Alliance, and the Nashville Philharmonic Orchestra. She also finds time to be actively engaged in Nashville’s music community as a classical singer and worship leader. In her spare time, Laurel enjoys reading, indoor rock climbing, jewelry-making, and spending time with her nephew.
